From Our Pastor

As you come to the United Church of Christ East Goshen, my prayer is that you feel strengthened in God's love, grace and peace. God's sustaining hope is present here!

Since 1993, it has been my joy to serve as pastor and teacher among this congregation of believers. Together, with God's nudging direction, we have grown in faith, outreach, membership and building facility. What we are here to offer is a bright sanctuary where God's creation can be seen on all sides, a simple space where a reverence for the Holy and a welcoming spirit dwells. Our commitment to offer a facility without physical barriers is evident throughout the church so we all can travel freely throughout the chancel area and sanctuary.

An invitation to "sit and stay awhile," "return often," and "join others for fellowship and refreshments" is echoed in words and the welcomes of various members. The Spirit which dwells among us is one of unity and compassion.

We offer the gift of baptism to anyone who asks. We share communion at an open table for seeking believers. We administer the rites of marriage, confirmation and Christian burial. We support families with written materials, counseling sessions and prayers.

The ministry here is shared among all who gather, for we believe that all the gifts and parts of the body are needed for the whole body of Christ to do God's work! We invite families, single persons, young and aging to be part of this congregation.
